In a few sentences describe which social challenge or problem does your impact idea target and your impact venture's approach to solving it.Many foreign companies with offices in Slovenia send their senior employees to live and work here for a few years. Quite some of them come with their families. In many cases that means that the spouses, usually women, put their careers on hold to spend a few years here without working and using their potential, which can lead to loneliness and loss of identity. I would like to connect these women with local opportunities, through volunteering or in a different form, so they could give something back to the local community while living abroad. | |
Briefly describe how will you try to increase your positive impact and which goals are you trying to reach:I would like to close the gap between the expats, who come to live to Slovenia for a few years, and the local community. My vision is to find a way to connect these people (mostly women, spouses of the expats, working for the international companies or embassies etc) with local businesses, humanitarian and social organisations, educational institutions etc. where they could help with their knowledge and expertise and leave their mark in the local community. This way they could integrate better in the new community, they would gain new experiences and it would allow them to start building a new identity and a new social network in Slovenia. |
