We just have to highlight one very special story of our participant of the ActImpAct program. Her name is Maja Modrijan. Now you are probably wondering, why Maja would be so special and different from other stories? Well, for the starter, Maja did not buy a new piece of clothing for at least 20 years (except socks and underwear); she is a sustainability entrepreneur who deals with the processing of waste into long-lasting products. She collects billboards, jeans, curtains… She processes garbage that is not and transforming in to bags, wallets, shoes, backpacks, pencils, pendants with seeds, shopping bags…
All of her ideas are created under the brand called Destillator, including the Šuh Tind*r project for shoe online dating. On the page, you can find all currently single Walk the talk shoes looking for the perfect pair of feet for shared experiences. When you find your perfect unique pair, reserve it quickly so it is not taken away from you. Maybe shoe is just flirting with someone else…
Maja creates because she needs a product and does not want to buy new one, because she prefers to enjoy the process of creation, research, learning technology, design… Sometimes, she creates out of pure frustration, because a product that would solve her problem does not even exist yet, or because a product that already exists is flawed and she finds a solution and design a better one that will be adapted to all sort of needs. Sometimes, however, she creates from pure “scratch”, just for fun. Do you have any throwaways?
