KNOWN FINALISTS AND WINNER OF THE 2ND SOCIAL INNOVATION COMPETITION 2013
From the 19 applications received, the commission selected 10 finalists for the 2nd Social Innovation Competition 2013.
Among the finalists were 5 applications from young social innovators who participated in the selection of the best young social innovator in 2013.

After the voting of the commission and the voting of the participants of the conference “4th Days of Social Economy” (October 22 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia), the two winners were presented at the evening announcement of results at the Hotel City:

MORE ABOUT THE COMPETITION
TOGETHER – Community of Private Institutions and Partners Fund 05 – Social Investment Institution, Brez dobička doo, Društvo mladinski ceh (Social Innovators of the Future) In response to the 1st DI competition in 2012 (43 registered innovations, prizes in the total amount of EUR 6,000 and numerous participants in the closing event), we are continuing with the organization of the social innovation competition.
The proclamation of 2013 as the year of active citizenship by the European Commission was also the basis for the aim of the competition, as we wanted to strengthen the activities of social innovators and their contribution to solving social problems.
INVITATION
Individuals and organizations registered in Slovenia that are active in the field of social innovation and want to increase their long-term sustainability or expand their mission and influence were invited to apply for the competition .
We have especially invited young individuals (up to and including 29 years of age) to apply for the competition, as we are promoting the innovation of young people and trying to help them develop social entrepreneurial ideas as part of the Social Innovators of the Future – SIP project.
TIMELINE
The competition for 2013 was open for applications until Friday 11 October 2013 .
The conclusion of the competition and the award ceremony took place at the 4th Days of Social Economy 2013 conference.

- Review of received applications and evaluation: 12 – 15 October 2013
- Selection of a maximum of 10 finalists: 15.10. 2013
- Preparation of finalists: 16. – 22.10.2013

AWARDS
AWARD FOR THE BEST SOCIAL INNOVATION 2013
The winner of the competition will be awarded with a business study visit to France , organized by the French Institute in Slovenia, Crédit Coopératif Bank and Fund 05 – a social investment institution. Meetings will be organized with related French organizations, support services and potential investors. The winner will be covered for travel and accommodation costs. The method of implementation will be agreed with the winner after the competition.
AWARD FOR THE BEST YOUNG INNOVATOR
The award given by the Investment Ready Program is free participation in the “Warm UP” workshops held in Viennaorganized by the Investment Ready Program, Vienna. The method of implementation will be agreed with the winner after the competition.
APPLICATIONS
All applicants apply by filling in at least form 1 – one sentence (one liner) , which is available for application in category 1 (conceptual design).
Applicants applying for category 2 (pilot projects) also fill in form 2 – one page (one pager) , and applicants applying for category 3 (business model) also fill in form 3 – business model .

The Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Affairs co-finances the project “Social Innovators of the Future” with public funds, with the help of which the 2013 SOCIAL INNOVATION competition is also being implemented.
The operation is funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund . This is a public tender for the promotion of equal opportunities and social inclusion in the labor market within the 4th development priority “Equal opportunities and the promotion of social inclusion” and priority orientations 4.1. “Equal opportunities in the market work and strengthening social inclusion ” of the Operational Program for Human Resources Development for the period 2007-2013.
