In 2022, the EU Staff Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund evolved into the EU Staff Fund for a Fair and Sustainable Future. While its structure remains, the fund now prioritizes both social and environmental concerns. With €1.6 million raised, it’s an embodiment of collective action.
Managed by EU Staff for Climate, in partnership with the King Baudouin Foundation, this fund supports organizations that balance social progress with environmental respect. By integrating ecological practices, it helps mitigate natural disaster risks and fosters socio-economic inclusion.
The fund focuses on two core objectives:
- Empower vulnerable individuals by meeting their basic needs and rights.
- Promote environmental preservation and sustainable practices in social activities.
Projects supported by the fund often encompass these elements.
The EU Staff Fund for a Fair and Sustainable Future values local organizations working in the EU and aspiring member countries, as they are deeply rooted in their communities and often have limited access to institutional funding.
